Andrew Cronin started in gymnastics and the trampoline. He joined Gymnastics A-Z in Pencoed near Cardiff, working there for 3 years - coaching people in gymnastics and trampolining. He found that he was becoming more and more interested in free-style moves and that was that start for him.
“I've always found gymnastics to be quite restrictive, it's all about pointing your fingers and toes and everything seems really staged. Parkour isn't like that at all, it's all about creating your own path within the sport. It's quite rebellious, if you think "I want to get over that wall" then you can. There’s nothing to stop you. You can even defy gravity for a while if you want to, when you do moves like a layout somersault then there's a moment that you're upside down and it feels like you're flying. And as a kid, who doesn't dream of flying?!”
Andrew has now been doing Parkour/Freerunning for about 6 years and has worked with people all over the world. Andrew is also a fully qualified Parkour/Freerunning instructor. Andrew is the founder of AiM - Art in Movement, a Parkour/Freerunning Company based in South Wales, providing a number of services including lessons, videos and promotion. Andrew is backed by companies such as Live Unltd and Big Ideas Wales and has proven to be an asset to the communities he works in, bringing together people from different backgrounds and developing their Parkour and Freerunning skills along with values such as respect, team work and fitness.
In 2012 Andrew Cronin was approached to be part of the performance team in the Olympic park. On the day Andrew was able to show his highly impressive tricking skills which combined basic Somersaults and creative flow. This day change his life with performances.
In 2013 Andrew then went on to perform in the Gadget show live with iON cameras where he showed the audience what it looked like from his point of view while using the camera.
