Louise started getting involved with sport from a very young age, which started with Cross Country, Heptathlon, Pole Vault then Triple Jump. She has represented Scotland on numerous occasions and also peviously held the Scottish Record for Pole Vault. After focusing on Triple Jump for 3 years, Louise won numerous Scottish Championship Medals! But sadly problems with her knee stopped Louise from progressing.
“At the end of 2009 I decided to give Track Cycling a go as Meadowbank Velodrome was right on my door step…. I have never looked back.”
In 2011 she was invited by British Cycling to try the Tandem piloting paralympic medallist Aileen McGlynn. In this time they rode in Spain at the World Cup in the road and TT events finishing 6th in the TT and 8th in the road race. A few months later Louise was drafted in to pilot Lora Turnham at the World Champs in Denmark, they finished 8th in the TT and unfortunately crashed in the road race.
After riding her solo bike 2012, Louise is now back on the Tandem trying to qualify for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
“We are training really hard and Scotland is aiming to qualify 2 female tandem pairings. Watch this space...”
